You have a sub today, Ms. K is in Michigan! You will be working on the assignment below. It is due in class.
Today we talked about our favorite composition elements in our journal and finished the photo hunt! Today was a great work day to catch up and finish classwork. If you're behind on journaling, here are our unit 2 prompts: And remember, your photo hunt is due in google drive tomorrow!
For our block period days, we went through the elements of composition slides in their entirety. Then you practiced recognizing those elements in some photos you chose from the internet. This exercise is due at the end of Thursday, 9/26/19. The explanation of this activity is on the last slide of this presentation: We also began our composition photo hunt! Using 25 different techniques, you will create and upload 25 unique images. Be sure you like these photos, we will be using them again in our Photoshop unit! All images are due in your Google Drive on Friday morning, 9/27/19.
Today we did a quick review of the quiz we took Friday and began our unit on COMPOSITION! If you need to retake the quiz, please email me to set up a time.
Notes from today are below :) On Thursday we played Kahoot to review for the quiz. On Friday, we took the quiz. The quiz was all about unit 1 - intro to digital photography. If you need to re-do the quiz or make it up, I am available Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 3-4pm in the photo lab. Room 2406.
Happy Homecoming! This is our big photo shoot day. Your first time fully operating your camera in manual mode. How cool! Before we grabbed our cameras, however, we did chat about LIGHT! And the role of light in your photography journey. Check out these slides to familiarize yourself with the vocab. If you need to catch up on our first project, here's the assignment and rubric: And remember, refer to this RAD chart if you need to remember how F-Stop (Aperture), Shutter Speed, and ISO all work together to illuminate the subject!
Today was all about ISO and completing our knowledge of what is called the, "exposure triangle". AKA the three things we need to control as photographers to get a good photograph. Remember those things are: Aperture/Fstop, Shutter, and ISO. Here's a good video to help put things all together.
To learn more about ISO, take a look at these notes: We worked with our cameras all period, specifically working on manipulating our shutter speeds freezing things in time and blurring subjects to stretch/bend t i m e. Here's the activity worksheet for reference!
Today is all about SHUTTER SPEED! Take a look at the notes here: If you want more practice, try this activity:
(it does work with camera phones ... just skip the changing of shutter speed and watch the world warp as you take a selfie) |
